Perhaps there's a security definition that can be changed somewhere, and the browser seemed plenty fast, but I can't live without Gmail Manager. Back to Firefox 3 I go I had an issue where upgrading from 64bit vista made my cdrom go away. Haven't narrowed down the cause; I suspect it's either iTunes the problem is with the GEAR aspi cdrom driver, which iTunes installs or some cd burning software. I found IE8 to be atrociously unstable. Also managed to get it to reproducibly crash the VGA driver as well as itself with a ul:hover css rollover effect.
Rendering was very bad. W3C compliant pages that render fine in FF3 and webkit did not render correcty in standards mode strict and transitional doctypes both made it default to this , but worked much better in quirks mode for some reason.
And then it crashes. I'm having all kinds of problems with Fallout 3, but I suspect the issue is actually Games for Windows Live. Attempting to update it locks up FO. Bypassing it, loads FO fine. Can you just not download the patch from here? Oddly enough, DOS 1. Damnit, why don't the QA this stuff!!!! OK, enough sarcasm.
So far it's been very trouble-free That updating hangs in both situations is what makes me think it's GWL's fault. I just installed F3 on my W7 and was able to run the downloaded patch successfully after using that to kill GfWL Tbh I've heard a lot of problems are caused by it anyway, which I'd never ran into as I gave up on Vista a long time ago.
Yay team! This is so true. Windows firewall is much better than 90 percent of the software firewalls out there. Hardware is also recommended. I've tried both the bit and bit editions, but it always gets stuck in a reboot loop after the first boot from disk and subsequent "Setting Up Registry" step. I can choose to boot into safe mode from the "Windows Failed to Boot Normally" screen, but that just informs me that setup cannot proceed in Safe Mode and forces a restart. Defraggler a small defrag utility from the makers of CCleaner causes Windows 7 to hang and upon reboot several drive errors will be detected with a scan.
Because genius.. Thats what "Beta Testing" is for. Also this isn't your everyday beta. There isn't a whole lot of changes under the hood other than optimizations. I also ran several other Defrag utilities which caused no problems at all. Why did I try more than one defrag utility?
Because I was wait get this This isn't my everyday OS as I wouldn't put my trust in beta software. What I will do is test heavily with all the programs I enjoy and report problems and bugs back to MS and the software companies.
This is what beta testing is about, its not about getting a free Microsoft OS, its about helping to refine the OS so that when it is released these type of problems are significantly reduced. That is why I would run a system level utility on a beta OS. Minesweeper crashes my Windows 7 x64 VM. I'm wondering if possibly AVG Free isn't a good idea in x I get atrocious performance problems after running the OS for about an hour and I didn't get that problem until I did what Windows told me to and installed an AV software.

FTP Access status is required to post in this forum. For now, I've been running a streaming video in Firefox for for hours, and no crash yet. Also, did you do a clean installation of the OS or an upgrade? It's a clean install. Besides, I don't think you can do an upgrade from XP. I think the crashes during idle might be related to power management. If I have the system active constantly eg. I have another hard crash today after leaving the system idle for a while.
Who knows. I still have no clue why it crashed during the performance index assessment. It just crash after booting but sometimes i am able to do things like using live messenger etc Thursday, January 29, PM. I had similar problems after loading Messenger. On another thread, I found a solution to set my hardware acceleration on my video to two notches from the left the one that disables direct draw.
Friday, January 30, PM. I would suggest downloading and installing the Vista Drivers for you video card and for your MB. I am running older harware.. I have turned off System Sleep and will see if that is the issue. Last time it went to sleep I couldn't recover because it turned off my USB mouse and keyboard and they refused to come back up.
