Everything that I know on linux, has been developed by the community. Atanas Stoyano Delphi Developer. Hi Mike, If you need to deploy within the current calendar year and need a native app vs. If you can use a web-based app. If you can wait until next year, then you might start now with VS. NET beta 2 and let your team learn the. NET framework until. There have been multiple devices in the past that the Linux community found a way to install Linux on where the devices developer did not officially support the OS.
I'm asking if Compaq supports the Linux OS on this device or if this is one of those cases where the community managed to figure out how to do it themselves perhaps even with Compaq's help, just no official support for it. Seems to me that people are buying the device, not the OS.
It was just a fictional example to illustrate a point. I did not mean to imply that those number accurately reflect the current state, I simply made up some exaggerated numbers to make the point clear I thought. I'm sorry if that ended up being confusing. Nicholas Hanso Delphi Developer. I can't imagine what they'll be doing with it.
PalmOS 5 must already be well advanced if it's going to be released next year. I still think that this will lead to disaster. I use both my Palm and my laptop, but not for the same things. It just feels to me that this is another one of those snakeoil trends - "use new technology X and all your problems will go away, and you'll save money too!!! When it inevitably turns out that it's all bullsh! I still don't see that you've proved this statement. If you find any evidence for it, please let me know, either directly or via the newsgroup.
Lots of evidence for iPaq's growth over the past year. I'm asking you to prove there is a correlation between the two facts I'm not disputing the facts. The only real study describing the correlation was published by Goldman Sachs. In other words, Palm's retail sales are way down. You asked me the respond, so I will. It's not that I think it's a given but I do think that CE has greater long-term advantages over Palm.
I say this for a number of reasons, some of which are relevant to my business and some are more general they are just my opinion. I have had a greater response from this posting than I thought I would and the idea of making the mobile portion of the application web based is a good on, and not something I had thought of. I will be looking into this possibility further. If I've posted this message more than once - please forgive me. Quote "Frank J.
